Dr. Silva completed his Bachelors Degree in Health Science at Quinnipiac University followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy thereafter.  He takes great pride in providing individualized care to every patient.  As a clinician he employs a deep understanding of causes of injury or pain and the internal processes the body uses to repair itself when treating his patients.  He utilizes hands-on techniques, movement, activities, exercise, and education to assist a person recover or improve from the conditions they suffer from.

Dr. Silva has continued his post graduate education having completed a certification in dry-needling (IMT), and advanced training in sports medicine rehabilitation, manual therapy and exercise science coursework.  He has found that too often patient’s say “I’ve done PT before” at times with poor responses.  This statement, he feels, sometimes spotlights lack of individualized care or time taken to understand a patient’s condition, work demands, hobbies, interests, or family needs.  As both a clinician and educator he embraces the responsibility of teaching his students to be the medical community’s rehabilitation and movement analysis experts not a one size fits all treatment.  When someone is sick and not improving, they do not say “well I tried physician before.” He says this should not be the case for Physical Therapy.

Dr. Silva has a special interest in treating runners along with those who suffer with repetitive injuries or training difficulties.  A runner himself he enjoys running and hiking in his free time. He lives in Newtown with his wife and two young children.
